Effective Engagement of VCS Sector in Implementing EDS2
The Equality Delivery System (EDS) is a tool developed for NHS organisations to review, rate and improve their equality performance with staff, patients, and the public, encapsulated by the protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010.
The four objectives NHS organisations are measured against are:
- Better health outcomes for all
- Improved patient access and experience
- Empowered, engaged and included staff
- Inclusive leadership.
Race Equality Foundation, in partnership with LGBT Foundation, Disability Rights UK and Mens Health Forum, have been funded by NHS England to produce a best practice guide for engaging with the community and voluntary sector in EDS2 implementation.
To develop the guide, a survey has been constructed in consultation with service users, NHS organisations and voluntary and community organisations to identify good practice examples of effective engagement with voluntary and community organisations.
As an organisation working to effectively implement EDS2, directly or through your wider equalities work, you are invited to share your examples of good practice by filling out this survey. These examples will be assessed and developed into case studies for inclusion in the guide, and will help us to further develop criteria for assessing good practice.
Thank you for your time.
