Junior DPS event: Neuroanatomy in Parkinsonism
Dear junior DPS member,

It has already been a while since we all met up in Groningen for the first ever junior DPS pre-conference day. As we very much enjoyed the event, and of course meeting all of you, it is now time to present the first junior DPS event of 2023 held on Friday May 12th at the vUMC in Amsterdam!

On this day, all early career scientists (PhD students, research assistants, junior scientists, early-postdocs, etc.) are invited to join us at the vUMC Amsterdam to acquaint themselves with the theme: ‘Neuroanatomical research in the field of Parkinsonism’. We have arranged a full-day event regarding the ins and outs that are associated with post-mortem brain collection and its analysis in the context of Parkinsonism. With this event we would like increase knowledge on brain banking, anatomy, and neuropathology in the context of Parkinsonian disorders, and to advocate for the importance of the neuropathological work you carry out. First, there will be interactive talks on the Netherlands Brain Bank, and neuroanatomy on itself. Then, after lunch, we head to the Snijzaal for a neuroanatomical demonstration on real human post-mortem material followed by an interactive neuropathology game. At the end of the day, we will celebrate with drinks and dinner in Amsterdam! Please find a preliminary schedule below.

Preliminary schedule:
10.00-10.30 Meet and greet with coffee
10.30-11.30 Presentation Netherlands brain bank (NBB)
11.30-12.30 Neuropathology
12.30-13.15 Lunch break
13.30-15.00 Anatomy demonstration
15.15-16.30 Neuropathology game

We hope to see you all there!
