The Artists Series invites Chicago-based, emerging artists of color from a wide range of artistic fields to present works in progress to the public. Artists receive critical feedback from a facilitated conversation with guest experts in corresponding fields and the public audience.

This opportunity is for Chicago-based artists of color with at least 2-3 years of demonstrated commitment to presenting or exhibiting their artistic practice outside of a school setting.

Works-in-progress that represent innovation or experimentation within your artistic practice are encouraged. Works presented must be your own, unless the original or collaborating artist has given their written permission for your use.

Selected artists will receive a single $50 honorarium, professional video and photographic documentation, and references. Currently our focus is on presenting dance, theater, music, and visual art, but applications from outside of these fields will be considered. Each event in The Artists Series will typically showcase four artists, representing two different art forms.
