In addition to publishing the Green Pages, SPEECH sponsors regular, participatory workshops and events on topics including envisioning downtown Olympia, regional growth management and land use issues, Puget Sound shellfish aquaculture, Native issues, Thurston County hydrology, and more. SPEECH has also facilitated dialog between local government staff and environmental activists and we have held local candidate forums. We can do more with your help!
SPEECH is facing the challenges of many nonprofit, volunteer, activist organizations. Fundraising, membership retention, event planning, publication and agenda setting are daunting tasks. We struggle to measure our effectiveness. The single biggest challenge for SPEECH is the lack of volunteers.
This survey is to gauge how much enthusiasm there is for different paths that SPEECH can choose as we move into the future. As we do this, we recognize that nothing we choose will be successful unless community members join in to help make this happen!
