Course Objectives:

Wrestling takedowns for Beginners
Introduce takedowns and techniques for BJJ practioners looking to add takedowns to their BJJ arsenal. Or those getting started in the sport of Wrestling.

Introduction to Judo Course
Equip new trainees with fundamental and essential knowledge, movement and skills required for judo.

Attire:

Wrestling
No-Gi attire. 
Clean Sports attire - Preferably rash guard, shorts. Dri-fit tee.
No footwear, singlets, attires with pocket & zippers. 

Judo
Gi attire. (B.Y.O.) or Rent $8/session (subject to availability)
Clean kimono - Judo & BJJ allowed
No footwear.

Terms & Conditions of Participation *

ACTIVITY PROVIDER (Venue Host): Action Academy LLP (also known as Ascend Athletics Singapore), including all affiliated business names and variants, located at 68A Race Course Road, Singapore (the “Host”).

1. ACTIVITY DETAILS

The undersigned participant (“Participant”) will take part in Olympic Wrestling (Freestyle/Greco-Roman variants), and/or Judo, including any related physical training courses (the “Courses”), which are instructed and conducted independently by external instructors engaged solely for these specific programs.

The Host is only providing venue access, administrative support, and hosting services for these Courses. Instruction, content, teaching methods, and safety practices are the sole responsibility of the individual instructors.

This Waiver applies to participation in any and all Courses hosted at the premises, including if the Participant attends multiple sessions or courses by different instructors.

2. RELEASE OF LIABILITY

The Participant fully and irrevocably releases, discharges, and agrees to hold harmless the Host, including its owners, directors, managers, partners, employees, contractors, agents, and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from:

  • Any and all claims, demands, causes of action, or liability for any injury, disability, death, loss, or damage to person or property,

  • Whether caused by negligence, acts or omissions of the instructors, other participants, or otherwise,

  • Arising directly or indirectly from participation in the Courses or presence at the facility.

The Participant understands and agrees that the Released Parties are not responsible for the actions, conduct, or methods of the independent instructors delivering the Courses.

3. FITNESS TO PARTICIPATE & SAFETY

The Participant affirms that:

  • They are physically fit and capable of engaging in strenuous physical activity.

  • They have or will consult with a physician before participation.

  • They will not participate if injured, unwell, under the influence of alcohol/drugs, or otherwise unfit.

  • Pregnant individuals or those with pre-existing conditions are strongly advised to obtain medical clearance before participation.

The Participant accepts sole responsibility for monitoring their health and safety during the Courses.

4. ASSUMPTION OF RISK & INDEMNITY

The Participant acknowledges and accepts that BJJ and related physical activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to: falls, joint locks, chokes, physical contact, collisions, sprains, fractures, concussions, and other injuries that may result in disability or death.

The Participant voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation.

The Participant further agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including legal costs) arising from:

  • The Participant’s own participation in the Courses,

  • The actions or omissions of the instructors, other participants, or guests,

  • Any use of the facility or equipment,

  • Any media use as described below.

5. COURSE PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

To ensure a safe and respectful environment, the Participant agrees to the following conditions of enrollment:

  • Safety: Inform instructors of any pre-existing medical conditions, arrive punctually for warm-ups, and wear proper attire.

  • Hygiene: Maintain personal hygiene, including trimmed nails and clean training attire.

  • Payment: A deposit is required to confirm your slot. The remaining fees must be paid by 6 October 2025.

  • Refund Policy: All fees are non-refundable. If unable to attend, fees may be transferred to another person.

  • Attendance: No make-up sessions will be provided for missed classes.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in removal from the Course without refund.

6. MEDIA RELEASE

The Participant grants the Host full, unrestricted, and irrevocable permission to capture, use, reproduce, edit, and distribute photographs, video, or audio recordings of participation in the Courses for promotional, marketing, or commercial purposes in any format or platform, worldwide and in perpetuity.

No compensation will be provided.

7. ACKNOWLEDGMENT & VOLUNTARY ACCEPTANCE

The Participant confirms that:

  • They have read, understood, and voluntarily signed this Waiver.

  • They acknowledge the risks involved in the Courses.

  • They release the Host from liability for any incident, injury, or loss.

  • They understand the Host is not responsible for the instruction or conduct of the instructors.

  • They agree not to pursue any claims against the Released Parties.

  • They had the opportunity to seek independent legal advice before signing.

8. GOVERNING LAW

This Waiver shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Singapore.

9. PARENT/GUARDIAN CONSENT (For participants under 18 years old)

I, the undersigned parent/legal guardian of the minor Participant, consent to their participation and agree to all terms of this Waiver on their behalf.


If the Participant is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must be present on the first class to acknowledge the terms below. By accepting, the parent or guardian acknowledges and agrees to all terms above on behalf of the minor participant and consents to their participation in the Activity.
