The purpose of this event is to create awareness of apprenticeship training programs and support services for young adults interested in career opportunities in the transportation and construction industry. As the CTA’s workforce needs continue to grow, we host special community outreach events such as these in order to help connect Chicagoland communities to work opportunities with CTA construction contractors. This event will include a presentation and will focus on helping individuals learn more about construction industry career pathways. Attendees will also have opportunities to network with CTA staff, community resource agencies, CTA Construction Contractors, Trade Unions, & Pre-Apprenticeship Trainers that help individuals with skill improvement and other supports needed to qualify for union and non-union opportunities on CTA contracts.
The event will feature hands-on activities, a live DJ and light refreshments. There will also be prizes!
