The pace of global warming accelerates, so does the wind of change in coal
regions. Mines and power plants closure raises even more difficulties - miners
need jobs, regions seek new sources of energy, local communities struggle with
a perspective of poverty and exclusion. Transformation goes on, regions succeed
here and fail there and yet new challenges lie ahead. This is an invitiation to
a conference "Gone With the Coal. Mining Regions Searchin For New
Energy", an event on changes in mining regions and their future.
The event will take place on October 19th, 9.30-16.30 in Newseria Press
Center, Chmielna Street 73, Warsaw.
