Mentoring Program Application
Thank you for your interest in applying for the 2017-2018 College of Business Mentoring Program. This program is for business students only. Space is limited to 30 first-year students who will be admitted on a rolling basis, until the program fills (typically by July 1st). Admission is competitive, and the application is an important factor in the selection process. From this application, selected students will be invited for an in-person or phone interview.
Please indicate that you read the following program expectations and commitments before continuing the application process:
The Mentoring Program is a small, supportive community that aims to help first-year students continue to be successful and develop as leaders as they transition from high school to college. Support is provided through one-to-one mentoring with current business students who help new students navigate their first year of college, and through membership in the program community. The three key components to the College of Business Mentoring Program include:

1) Peer Mentoring
- First-year students are paired with a junior or senior business student mentor
- Mentees and mentors meet 5 hours each month (students decide when they meet)
- Students are paired based on similar interests, hobbies, areas of study, backgrounds
- Students receive program packets with information about each other in mid-July
(Mentors call mentees in early August to connect before fall classes start)

2) Mentoring Seminar
- Mentees participate in a 1-credit Seminar course the first 8 weeks of fall semester
- Seminar is Thursdays 12:30-1:45 pm, beginning August 24th
- Topics include academic adjustment to college, campus resources, relationship building

3) Program Community
- Two events are required each semester
- Professional and social events are offered each semester (students select 2)
