SOAA Drone Racing League Application
Students (6th-10th grades) compete in teams of 10 from February-May. The first five weeks are dedicated to drone racing simulators and learning the basics of unmanned aircraft technology. After Spring Break, students learn to design and assemble courses, practice racing a 2 inch racing drone, and in May (either the 2nd or 9th) all students will compete against each other in an end-of-season championship in Grants Pass.
Applications are due February 10th. Teams launch the week of February 17. Not all students who apply can be placed on a team, as positions are limited. Notifications will be provided no later than February 14th.
For funding purposes, teams are limited to the following schools this season:
NVHS, Fleming MS, HVHS, Lincoln Savage MS, Lorna Byrne MS, North MS, South MS, Crater Lake Charter, REACH Charter, Civil Air Patrol, Homeschool, Henley HS.
All equipment is provided. No cost to participate.
