Nature Culture Fellowship Application

Thank you for your interest in this fellowship!

Rooted in the yearning to live in reciprocity and respect for all life on a thriving planet, the Nature Culture Fellowship (NCF) brings together young and experienced conservation practitioners to reimagine how we engage with art, culture, nature, and one another — not only in theory but in lived, relational, and regenerative ways. The fellowship invites participants to explore culture as a powerful vehicle for systemic change — reconnecting with nature and art to facilitate stories, reconnecting ourselves in the web of life, and healing our relationship with the more-than-human world. At its heart, the NCF aims to nurture community-based pathways that lead to ecological and social flourishing.

We will join together in a living, co-creative, evolving space, for a learning journey, where Fellows explore deep questions around identity, place, grief, transformation, reciprocity with human and more-than-human beings, and multi-generational relationships, as well as a hands-on cultivation of pilot projects seeded in their communities.

The intention of the program are to: 1) nurture regenerative cultural leadership; 2) deepen intergenerational connection and wisdom exchange; 3) unlearn systems of superiority and oppression and reconnect with living systems;  4) re-root our work in deep listening, values, embodiment, and relationships; 5) inspire and support the design of seeding new stories and other offerings; 6) create a learning ecosystem of co-sensing, co-regulation, and co-creation; and 7) embody narrative change through culture as reflection, imagination and expressions of healing and joy.

The journey starts with a 3-month online immersive learning phase (May–July 2025), where participants from different countries engage in storytelling, embodiment, and reflection on our separation from land, spirit, and community. These sessions will be offered every week on Fridays, starting 23rd May 2025 at 14:30 UTC.

From August to December 2025, selected Fellows will receive financial support to activate culturally- rooted projects that weave culture, art, ancestral knowledge, and intergenerational exchange, grounded in care and bold imagination. This application form allows you to choose whether you are applying for the learning journey (10 sessions) or both (learning journey + fellowship).

The Nature-Culture Fellowship (NCF) is a Kinship program developed in collaboration with the Global Youth Biodiversity Network and other partners.
