Registration Form, EBA Business Outlook 2021
Scope of the event:
The goal of the event is to hear from CEOs representing various industries, such as banking, utilities and energy, retail and IT, on their expectations regarding the evolution of the economy in 2021, as well as expected business evolution trends of their industries, challenges and opportunities at the regional and national level.
Brief description:
2020 had a severe impact on business development in certain areas due to the pandemics and in Moldova case - due to the draught. Figures show a dramatic decrease in trade flows, FDI inflow, job creation and consumption. Although there are some forecasts of a positive macroeconomic dynamic in 2021, still certain risks, such as political uncertainty, insufficient involvement from the state in supporting the SMEs, might jeopardize them.
The EU and broader donor community support is crucial for economic recovery, especially in certain sectors (e.g. supporting SMEs and boosting foreign trade). However, delays in the legal approximation, issues in the rule of law field, low country credibility, and the constant migration of the skilled labor force, are undermining the investment appetite.
Therefore, the CEOs from some key industries are invited to share their views and present opportunities for Moldovan economic development, considering the current challenges, regional perspectives and the overall global economic situation in the pandemic environment.
