The MBE-to-MBE Mentorship Program is a six-month (Sept 2016-April 2016) program that matches selected certified Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBEs) with experienced and successful MBE Mentors.

Applications are due by Friday, September 9, 2016.

Program Details
• Goal: help MBEs become corporate-ready through the mentorship and guidance of experienced and successful MBEs
• Duration: September 2016 to March 2017
• Selection Process: You will be notified by September 13, 2016 if you have been accepted into the program.

Preference will be given to MBEs that are Class I (annual sales <$1M) or Class II (annual sales from $1M-$10M); active in the Council and within the MBE Input Committee; and graduates of any of the following WRMSDC workshops:
o 2016 Excellence in Leadership Series in Las Vegas
o 2016 RFPs, RFQs, RFIs: Guidelines for Successful Proposals in San Jose
o 2015 Core Foundations of a Good Business in Sunnyvale
o 2015 Core Foundations of a Good Business in Las Vegas
• Mentorship Process: Each mentee will receive a detailed SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, & Threats) on their company and support from their mentor in utilizing it to develop, prepare, and grow their company for corporate readiness

Mentees must…
• Be a WRMSDC Certified MBE
• Have company headquarters in California, Nevada, or Hawai‘i
• Be willing to complete and pay for a SWOT Analysis (if you have not already had one conducted)

Fee Structure
o Class 1: Free - WRMSDC will pay for your SWOT Analysis*
o Class 2: Free - WRMSDC will pay for your SWOT Analysis*
o Class 3: $1,200
o Class 4: $1,200

*Class 1 and 2 MBEs will pay a scheduling fee that will be reimbursed upon completion of the SWOT analysis

Tips for Success
We strongly recommend that mentees…
• Attend the program’s kick-off event on Thursday, September 15, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. PT at the Hilton Oakland Airport at One Hegenberger Road, Oakland, CA. Nevada and Hawai‘i MBEs can video-in remotely via Skype, Google Hangouts, etc. (details TBA). At the kickoff event, mentors and mentees will meet, receive an introduction to the program, and create their schedule and game plan.
• Meet in-person with their mentor at least four times during the program

We have a limited amount of mentors so spaces for mentees are also limited. You will be notified if you have been accepted into the program by September 13, 2016.

Once you are accepted in the program, the kick-off event will be on September 15th, 2016 from 1pm-3pm. Location is Hilton Oakland Airport, One Hegenberger Road, Oakland, CA.
