Ways of reaching us
This form is a way you can contact us that allows you to remain anonymous, and allows us to ask structured questions.
Please note that in order to remain anonymous, you should take care not to enter personal details anywhere.
Here, you can also choose to speak to someone in person. You can also directly reach out to our volunteer point of contact Alix Pham (former EACH Co-Director), or our team.
You might contact us here because you want to…
- Talk through a difficult personal issue and/or find support regarding your mental health
- Talk through a complicated situation with another person/people (that you are involved in or you are witnessing)
- Report something you experienced in the EA community which made you feel uncomfortable in any way, or something that is making It difficult for you to participate in the group
- Report a seemingly unpleasant or stressful situation that you have observed
- Let us know if you suspect/have witnessed someone behaving in a way that’s likely to cause harm (behavior that disturbs group meetings, harassment, mean behavior, dishonesty, etc)
- Ask us to pass on feedback to an EA organization or organization employee on your behalf
- Notify us of a concern about trends within the effective altruism (or an associated) community
- Anything else that you think we ought to know and/or do something about
If you are unsure if your experience or observation falls under one of these categories and is worth reporting, we encourage you to err on the side of disclosing. We prefer to alleviate concerns early, rather than learn of problems too late.
If you want to give feedback for our work as the EACH team, please use this form. You can also contact the Community Health team at the Centre for Effective Altruism by using this form.
Confidentiality
All reports given to us will be kept confidential by default. You will be able to decide what happens with your report. Nevertheless, we would like to advise you that, despite our efforts to maintain confidentiality, it can happen that witnesses are identified.
This form gets checked by Alix Pham (vacation replacement: Marcel Steimke). We try to answer requests for contact within three days max. If both of us are out of office, submissions might get checked by another team member.
If you have a strong reason for withholding information from a
particular
EACH Team member, please contact one of us personally (e.g. on Slack).
If you have further questions about how we handle confidential information, we’re happy to discuss that at the start of our conversation.
