Performing can be scary for anyone, especially when we first start learning to sing, dance and act in front of others. At HMT, we have two rules that we find to be essential to creating a foundation for success and safety for all our students:

Act like you want to be here. This means that everyone brings a positive attitude into the learning space, with an agreement to say “yes” to every activity. Even if we are scared, we try our best, and encourage others to do their best.

Act like you respect everyone and everything in the room. This means that we treat each classmate and teacher respectfully, that we listen when others are talking or singing, and that we allow everyone to have a turn. We treat ourselves with respect, as well as the learning space, and all of the tools that we are given.
