Tell Us About Your Project
In the short description, give just the bare bones so we know what climate solution is involved, what you will do, where and with whom. (This project will build and distribute 100 worm bins to help people compost and keep food waste out of the landfills in the KC Metro area.)
In the long description, give more detail about grants, sponsoring organizations, activities, and what you plan to accomplish and how. (We will refine the new Kitchen Worm Compost Bin and test it. Then we will get grant money from MARC to get the buckets, bedding and Red Wigglers. We will enroll greenhouses and farmers markets to help build and distribute the bins that people will adopt. We will make a video to show how to care for the worms and a survey to judge how successful we were in helping people compost right in their kitchen.)

Describe your Dream Outcome from this project! *
What will you need to learn to make this project successful? (Use bullet points.)
What skills or content knowledge will be required? What organizational or leadership skills will need to be learned?(Make a ledger, write a press release, acknowledge peoples' commitment, etc.)
To Learn *
Write an elevator talk for the solution your project addresses.
It is helpful to have a 30 second and a 60 second elevator talk that sums up why and how your solution affect the atmosphere. (When food scraps are put in the landfill, they are anaerobic and produce methane which is 25 times worse then CO2 in it's warming potential. But if food scraps are composted, you avoid that methane and the compost when applied to soil makes the soil rich with life that pulls down a significant amount of CO2 out of the air and locks it in the soil.)
Elevator Talk *
Enrolling Others
If you are building a team or working with a team that needs more people, think about what is the opportunity for THEM if they join your project. (You will learn a cool new way to compost year round, and help get lots of people composting and making a difference for reversing global warming.)
Opportunity *
Community Mapping
Think about the people and organizations in your community that could help you get your project into high gear and extending its reach. You may want to use drawing paper or digital whiteboard, or a spreadsheet, or both.
Put the key people and organization you will reach out to below.

Milestones
Milestones are points you must reach in order to go on to the next phase of your project. Put 3 or 4 milestones below. (Have a first meeting with the team. Build the first test compost bins. Apply for the grant. Line up a farmers market for distribution.)

Action Steps
This is the heart of any Action Plan. It takes time. It changes often. It gets done out of order. It defeats many people, but here it can be fun.
Keep these small chunks. Measurable actions. Include a start date with each. (best guess) Decide what needs to be done BEFORE other things can get done. Build in extra time for the unexpected so you don't feel discouraged. (Layout a sticker guide for the compost bins - Dec. 12. Place order with the sticker company - Dec. 19.) This will really help you track your progress.
