Here are the roles we've outlined, but there's a ton of flexibility - feel free to let us know what you're interested in doing :)
Shift Manager: 5 hours/week
Your job is to know the shop really well! You will be responsible for opening up the shop, orienting volunteers, and coordinating Open Stand operations. Some experience with bikes will be necessary but you by no means have to know everything - we're all learning.
Events Coordinator: Flexible
Social, educational, and outreach events are a huge part of our presence in the Harvard community and (especially) beyond. You'll be responsible for planning and leading an event or two per semester. In the past we've run events like bike tours of Cambridge and Allston-Brighton and maintenance workshops, but we'd love to get some more creative events on the calendar!
Outreach & Communications Coordinator: Flexible
Your role is to expand our community, keep folks updated on the shop, and promote our events and programs. Our main channels of communication are Instagram and our email list. Qualifications: be a little bit silly.
Mechanic: 2-hour shifts - sign-up weekly subject to your availability
Mechanics enter the shop community on a trainee basis, and will work with more experienced members to develop skills. If you're curious, the mechanic curriculum is
here. Responsibilities include checking folks in and out, assessing bikes to be serviced, and helping with maintenance according to experience level
