KHB Artist Residencies "Minimal Traveling"
In the artist-in-residency programmes of KHB Kunsthalle Below and KHBstudios, research is conducted on two aspects: on the one hand, we pursue the goal of further exploring, reflecting on and making visible the concept of "minimal travelling". And secondly, the focus will be on formats that test game/experimentation (with community).
KHB invites experimental artists* who will work in their personal genres of writing, drawing, photography, performance, dance, walking, etc., who prefer to engage in an experimental and/or collaborative artistic practice, and who at the same time are looking for an environment to share with others.
There is no classic studio for works that leave traces.

We prefer guests who arrive without a plane. If you are international: we prefer travellers who integrate their residency in berlin into a broader stay in northern central europe in order to be able to hold on to the term "minimal travel". Please write some sentences about your travelplans.

Conditions KHB "Experimental Hygiene“ *
Simplicity is the manifesto of Kunsthalle Below. Guests who consciously and experimentally choose their simple standard are welcome. The conditions for the residency can be found here: http://kunsthallebelow.de/studios/ and in ‘KHBstudios House Rules, Instructions for Use, Operating Instructions’.

I agree to participate with a contribution. This is 250€/week (+energy). Minimal 2 weeks [MONEY - a note: The KHB is not funded or sponsored. It is supported by donations, voluntary work and the membership and residency participation fees].

Insurance *
A mishap can happen to anyone by accident. That's why you have liability insurance. (This is standard in Germany.)
Motivation *
Your plans for the residency - What are your plans for your stay? What do you intend to do/not do? Is there a specific project/topic? Or can you give us an insight into what drives you to work artistically? Please do not write more than one page and complete your text, if available, with your website/profiles that can be found online and/or a portfolio as pdf.
