Daily Shot Info and Request Form

Use this form to suggest a Daily Shot for the Wellesley College website homepage.

    Daily Shot Info

The Daily Shot consists of a large, horizontally oriented photo and a related Wellesley story. Its goal is to—over time, through one-a-day examples—reflect the breadth and variety of the people and activities related to Wellesley, the depth of its history and traditions, and its engagement with the wider world. We appreciate suggestions from across campus for Daily Shot topics. If you’ve got an idea, please fill out the form below. We’ll review and if it meets the Daily Shot criteria, we’ll try our best to fit it into the schedule. We can’t always get all worthy stories in in a timely way, but we try! CRITERIA Image: We have to have a high quality photo or graphical item that looks good at 930x475 pixels to make the Daily Shot work. Candid/action shots are vastly preferred to posed photos, even though we sometimes have to resort to posed shots. Message: Does the story say something good about Wellesley? Story: Has a story been submitted or relevant info forwarded and a person put forth for interview? Timeliness: Is the story tied to anything topical, such as current events, national or international holidays, Wellesley traditions or annual rituals, Wellesley or other historic anniversaries, key events or happenings? (We like evergreen stories too, but if something is linked to, say, Women’s History Month, it’s great to get the story ahead of that month.) The earlier you submit your story with pertinent information and photos, the higher the likelihood that we will be able to feature it. Variety: We try to mix up our coverage of students, faculty, alumnae, and the college at large. We also try to vary news about awards, publications, events, achievements, etc. And we try to vary types of images as much as possible. Thank you for taking the trouble of sharing your story idea with us. We really value the input!
