About Us
Cherwell Wine & Spirits was established by 2 Oxford PhDs who caught the wine bug and met each other while over there. We are first and foremost wine enthusiasts who can’t wait to share our knowledge and passion with everyone. We aim to nurture and foster wine appreciation and help you choose the right wine for a special occasion.
Course Introduction
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This qualification was initially created for sommeliers or wine sales manager within the wine trade. It has grown into the most popular beginner's course around the world, providing fundamental knowledge to anyone who wants to start learning about wine.

HOW WILL YOU BENEFIT?
The aim of the course is to give an introduction to the main styles of wine, common grape varieties, wine tasting technique, followed by some basic food & wine pairing.

 PROGRAMME OUTLINE
• The main styles of wine
• The WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine
• The characteristics of the common grape varieties used to produce wine
• Service of wine
• Health, safety, and legal issues
• The pairing of food and wine
• To gain the qualification in one day (upon successfully pass a multiple-choice paper of 30 questions)

WHAT IS INCLUDED
All course materials, including 9 wine samples, study guide and 1 sitting of the exam leading to a recognised qualification.
