MEDA Mission Techies Application
Please make sure you read all the information.

Thank you for your interest in the Mission Economic Development Agency's (MEDA) FREE Mission Techies program! This program is structured to train and expose community members to the technology field in order to attain employment and specialized training. Unfortunately, we have limited capacity in the class and may not be able to admit every applicant. With that in mind, we are using this application to assess the connection to the Mission Neighborhood, level of interest, availability, and technological aptitude for interested applicants. All applicants will receive an email from our staff afterward.

Our goal is to train our community members with technology programs for free, without getting into expensive boot camps. We aim for our students to succeed in technical careers or college-level training.
Students will be introduced and trained in programming (computer code) classes. The programming track will include Front-End: HTML, CSS, GitHub, Bash Terminal, JavaScript; and Back-End: MongoDB, Node.js, and Express.js.

We have three cohorts throughout the year: Spring (16 weeks), Summer (8 weeks), and Fall (16 weeks). This is the usual schedule, but it can change without notice

The Summer Cohort will be held from June 6th until July 29th. The program training will be held online Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. All lectures will be held in English. For more information about the program, please visit our website at http://medasf.org/programs/mission-techies/.

NOTE: MEDA does not guarantee a paid or volunteer position after this program is completed. This program is the foundation for people who want to go into the tech field or specialized at a higher education school.

NOTE: It is highly recommended to look at different resources to study the material before you start the class. Here is one free website (https://www.freecodecamp.org/) you might also want to look at (https://teamtreehouse.com) which is free if you have a San Francisco Library Card.

NOTE: Low cost internet resources at https://corporate.comcast.com/covid-19
