The ACA Safety and Rescue Committee, Chaired by Jim Coffey, is rallying the troops to teach a 2-hour Drowning Prevention Class for members of our local communities all around the world on World Drowning Prevention Day, July 25, 2026.
What: Drowning Prevention Day -- Community Drowning Prevention Class
When: July 25, 2026 from 4 pm to 6 pm local time
Where: All Over the World
We need ACA certified instructors, locally certified CPR instructors, and other safety/event management volunteers to help us pull it off! The goal is to teach 1000 people in one day...and the plan to get there is to identify 100 Lead Instructors in 100 locations across at least 10 countries and to teach 10 people in each class. We will have a standardized 2-hour drowning prevention curriculum.
If you are interested in volunteering to support this initiative, please use this form to sign up and express your interest. The Committee will contact applicants during the month of March to solidify locations and begin nailing down the details.
Thanks for all you do for our paddlesports communities! And thanks for being willing to help us join together to make a difference!
