Maryland’s P-EBT Program ended with the 2022-2023 School Year.

Thank you for your interest in the P-EBT program.  This program provided food assistance to children who lost access to Free and Reduced-Price School Meals (FARMS) due to school closures as a result of COVID-19. The Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Maryland Department of Education (MSDE) jointly implemented this program.

The P-EBT program, which was a temporary measure to provide food money to children unable to access free and reduced-price school meals during the pandemic, ended on December 31, 2023.  There will be no new P-EBT benefits issued after this date.

  • For questions regarding homeschooled children applications please contact the Maryland Department of Education at 410-767-0199 or 2023pebt.msde@maryland.gov.

This form remains open so that you can submit inquiries related to lost  P-EBT cards:

Need a new card:  If you no longer have access to your P-EBT card which still has benefits, please call  1(800) 997-2222  to request a replacement.
  • Expungement: Expungement is a process where  benefits are removed from an EBT card that has been inactive for 275 days or longer. Expunged benefits will not be restored if the card was previously used.
Please visit our P-EBT website at  dhs.maryland.gov/pebt to view answers to frequently asked questions and get the most up-to-date information about the P-EBT program.

Reconsideration Request:  For families attending schools using the 5 consecutive day threshold as a proxy for a COVID-related absence, the family may make a claim with the state for any COVID-related absence that is less than 5 consecutive days. The family will attest that the absent days are COVID-related, and the state will verify with the school that the absence was excused.  See MD P-EBT state plan https://fns-prod.azureedge.us/sites/default/files/resource-files/MD_State_P-EBT_School_Plan_4-26-22_v2.pdf
