Thank you for your interest in the P-EBT program. The government program is designed to provide food assistance to children who lost access to Free and Reduced-Price School Meals (FARMS) due to school closures as result of COVID-19. The Maryland Department of Human Services (DHS) is collaborating with the Maryland Department of Education (MSDE) to implement this program.
School Year (SY) 2021-2022
Standard for P-EBT Eligibility for Students
School children are eligible for P-EBT benefits if they are eligible for free or reduced price meals, but are unable to receive those meals due to reasons listed below:
A child’s school is closed (including any delayed start or early closure to the school year), or the school is operating with reduced attendance or hours
A Child is absent from school due to a COVID-19 related reason
A Child is enrolled in a virtual learning program established by his or her school district in effort to mitigate the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you will be receiving a P-EBT card for the first time (example: your children received benefit on your SNAP EBT card last year, children under six and school children who never received P-EBT benefit before), you will receive a new card for each child.
