Cultural District Plaza Visitor Survey - September 2026

The Portland Art Museum, the Portland Bureau of Transportation, the Portland Office of Arts and Culture, and City Repair Project partnered to revive a public plaza on SW Madison Street in the South Park Blocks—directly in front of the Portland Art Museum. The new Plaza and major work of asphalt art by artist Yinka Ilori opened to the public August 8, 2026 and will be in place for at least two years. Funded primarily by a grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies, the project included community input in the design, public surveys, and more than 400 volunteers who painted the mural. Click here for more information about the mural.

After the Plaza’s installation, we want to know about your current or recent use of the Cultural District Plaza. Your feedback will help us understand the plaza’s use and create plans for furnishings and programming in this space in the future. Thank you for your input!
