2025 Chemistry Classes Registration
Chemistry is one of the core science courses at high school. Our Chemistry teachers are highly experienced, having dedicated numerous years to teaching students at various levels of high school chemistry.
SpringLight has been offering high-quality Chemistry classes since 2012. Our students consistently achieve strong grades at school, often improving their GPA, and the majority score a 5 on their AP exams. Nearly every year, our students qualify for the USNCO national level, with several ranking in the top 150 nationally.

AP Chemistry Test Prep Class

Chemistry plays a vital role in modern science and technology. Learning and mastering the materials in AP chemistry will help our students in college. As this year’s AP Chemistry exam is fast approaching, and the new AP Chemistry exam is becoming more and more challenging (being more difficult to score 5), the Springlight Education is now offering the AP Chemistry Test Review Course for our crazily-scheduled high school students to better prepare for this tough exam.

By closely following the new six big ideas of AP Chemistry as our guideline, this course will thoroughly review those key concepts and chemical principles in each topic. More importantly, we believe that our students will perform better if they are able to understand and master those six big ideas and apply them in solving the real problems on the test. Additionally, we will also analyze the FRQs in previous AP Chemistry tests in fine detail, as well as conduct relevant practices.

We strongly encourage, in a sense require that our students do their work in advance, and ask as many questions as possible with an emphasis on their own needs.

To do list:

  1. Summarize the key points in concepts, formulas and principles in each topic
  2. Analyze previous AP Chemistry FRQs. (Note that students are required to do those FRQs in advance)
  3. Review published AP MCQ (Note that students are required to do those MCQs in advance)
  4. Practice a lot

The course is appropriate for students who are completing an AP Chemistry course or self-studying for the AP Chemistry exam.

Prerequisite: Taking AP Chemistry or completed H. Chemistry

AP Chemistry

This AP Chemistry course offers a comprehensive, college-level exploration of essential chemical principles. Students will delve into topics such as atomic structure, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, equilibrium, acid-base chemistry, and electrochemistry. Through engaging lectures, interactive discussions, and challenging problem-solving exercises, students will gain a deep understanding of the theoretical foundations of chemistry.

The course emphasizes critical thinking and analytical skills, equipping students for the AP Chemistry exam and future studies in science-related fields. Success in this course requires dedication, curiosity, and a strong commitment to mastering complex material. Join us to build a solid foundation in chemistry and achieve academic excellence!

This course is ideal for students who:

  • Are currently enrolled in an Honors Chemistry class and wish to challenge themselves in preparation for the AP Chemistry exam in May.
  • Are taking AP Chemistry at school and want to strengthen their understanding to boost their GPA and perform well on the AP exam.
  • Have a passion for chemistry and are preparing to take the USNCO (U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad) test.
Honors Chemistry:

This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamental language, concepts, and principles of chemistry. It covers essential topics, develops critical skills for understanding chemical processes and behaviors, and prepares students to solve both numerical and conceptual chemistry problems. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation in chemistry, setting them up for success in AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and college-level chemistry courses. Additionally, completing this course can positively impact a student's GPA.

This course is ideal for:

  •  High school students who are currently enrolled in an Honors Chemistry class in their high schools and want to deepen their understanding to improve their high school GPA.
  • Self-motivated middle school students who wish to enhance their skills for success in Science Bowl & Science Olympiad competitions.

Instructors
Dr. Zhang Dr. Jinsong Zhang has been trained in Organic Chemistry and has been teaching at the college level in the United States since 2005. She has extensive experience teaching AP Chemistry, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry and tutoring students in preparing for the AP Chemistry exam and USNCO (U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad). She firmly believes that building a solid foundation for any science subject is extremely important. Her teaching philosophy includes training students in problem-solving skills instead of following cookbook approaches. Dr. Zhang is excited to join SpringLight and contribute to closing the achievement gap for students from various socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.
Dr. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry and has over twenty years of college-level teaching experience. She is an expert in teaching General Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and preparing students for the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO). She has successfully coached SpringLight's students in both individual and group chemistry research. In recent years, her students have consistently qualified for the national level of the USNCO, with one of her students ranking among the top 150 nationally in 2024.
