By making a pledge of any dollar amount, you will join many others who have made a commitment to restore the Old Town House. Your pledge will accompany HistWick's pledge of $40,000 to bring the Old Town House up to code, as well as other neighbors' pledges of nearly $50,000. Our goal, together, is to contribute at least $100,000 in total towards this project. The Town Council previously authorized $130,000 toward the building’s restoration, and we received their support at their September 25th, 2023 Council meeting to recommit this support. Together we will aggressively pursue additional funds from national and state funding sources to procure the full amount--approximately $520,000. The restored building will serve numerous functions--home for a town Historical Society and meeting space for civic organizations, including the local VFW, which needs dedicated meeting space.
Pledges are contingent on the Town of North Kingstown and other interested entities identifying and procuring the full amount needed to bring this historically significant building back to life and active use. Therefore, Historic Wickford will not collect any funds pledged until the full amount needed to restore the building is secured. Should the Town and other interested entities fail to obtain the restoration amount that is needed, we will not collect on your pledge.
