VISION STATEMENT-

FASA is committed to assisting young people in Southern Africa become fully dependent on Jesus. This eternal perspective will impact every aspect of their lives, creating a responsibility to family, career, ministry, service to others and community.

CORE VALUES-
The Essentials:
The Gospel
A vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ is essential to life. Only through Christ is there the promise of forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Our ministry exists to proclaim Jesus as Lord and Savior to others. “I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. Romans 1:16

Discipleship-
Once we begin a relationship with Jesus it is vital to grow in that relationship. We want to see each person who comes to Christ grow and develop into a dedicated, effective, mature, life-long learner and follower of Christ. They should also go on to lead others to Christ and help them develop and mature. We do this by learning more about Jesus and becoming more like him in our daily living. “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt 28:18-20 (Jesus is effective)

Connecting to God:
Prayer
Communion with Jesus is vitally important to navigating through life, discovering God’s will and accessing His power. A commitment to individual and corporate prayer in all aspects of FASA represents our dependence on the Lord. “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16

The Bible
We believe the scriptures are inspired, inerrant, infallible, and complete. God’s word should govern our lives, this ministry and our decisions. The Bible helps us know Jesus better, tells us how to act, and teaches us what His will is.
All material, curriculum, initiatives and decisions are based on scripture. “His word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Psalm 19:105

Connecting to Others:
Unity
Collaboration is necessary for effective ministry and joy in living. Love and respect for our brothers and sisters from other cultures in a spirit of unity is essential to operating our ministry. We do everything with love.
“I appeal to brothers and sisters in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” 1 Corinthians 1:10

A Servant’s Heart
Serving God and people with an attitude of humility just like Jesus modeled is necessary in this ministry. “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also the interests of others. Having this mind among yourselves which is yours in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:3-5
