The Science Warriors Fellowship aims to cultivate scientist organizers within Indigenous Nations, bridging the gap between grassroots organizing and scientific research. The fellowship is focused on solution-oriented projects to address environmental health, wildlife, soils, water conservation or any area of ecological concern. We have a particular focus on projects that could protect communities and lands from extractive development. Fellows will receive a stipend of up to $10,000 for a 12 month project, with additional funding of up to $5,000 available for research materials, gas, etc. Mentors are optional, with funding of up to $2,000 if needed.
Fellows will participate in regular check-ins and workshops focused on building community, organizing, Indigenous research methodologies and technical skill building.
