Thank you for applying to join the Bike Durham Board of Directors. We are a volunteer board made up of 7-9 people, elected by active members of the organization.

There are 4 seats up for election in 2018 and all applicants that meet the following requirements will be placed on the ballot. Candidates will be listed on the website for review and elections will be held in late February (all dues paying members may vote in person at the elections meeting). Bike Durham is committed to a diverse Board of Directors and organization. People of color, women, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Board Applicant Requirements

1) Candidates must be a current member of Bike Durham. If you are not a current member, you can start or renew your memberships at https://www.bikedurham.org/join.
2) Candidates must reside in Durham County.
3) Candidates must be prepared to serve a 2-year term on the Board of Directors and have the option to run for reelection if they wish at the end of their term.
4) Candidates must be prepared to meet twice a month for board meetings and contribute additional time for organizing and attending events throughout the year (minimum 2.5 hour commitment every week).
