Welcome to the first annual PharmAlliance International Case Competition, bringing together UNC, UCL, and Monash University from the United States, UK, and Australia. Through this competition we hope to further understand the diversity of pharmacy practice around the world and bring students from different schools together. Everything you need to know is below!
Please complete this form by 14th March 2018 11:59 PM if you would like to participate.
What:
• Teams of 2-3 students from each school will compete in a clinical case competition.
• Round 1 is local and school-based. Teams will have to work collaboratively on one patient case and turn in their work in the format of a SOAP note. There will be one winning team selected from each school, and they will advance onto round 2.
• Round 2 is international and the winning team from round 1 will represent UNC in an open panel discussion with UCL and Monash University. All 3 winning teams from each school will be invited to come together via a video conference, and be given the opportunity to explain their rationale, as well as answer follow-up questions from judges. The second round is to help see how students tackle therapeutic problems differently in the three countries. The winning team from round 1 must participate in round 2 as well. Food will also be provided.
When:
• Round 1: March 16 -18
• Round 2: March 19-30 (1 day in coordination with Monash and UCL, the exact date will be determined later)
Where:
• Round 1: Teams may meet wherever they like to complete their SOAP notes.
• Round 2: Beard Hall at UNC ESOP, a Zoom connection will be established to connect with UCL in London and Monash in Australia. More information on the second round will come soon.
Why:
• Winners of the first round will be given a prize per member! This is also a GREAT opportunity to understand the diversity of pharmacy practice around the world, and to see how other pharmacy students perform compared to you! You also get to meet some amazing students from Monash University and UCL.
