Scholarship recipients are expected to make their best efforts to practice law in San Diegoupon passage of the bar exam.
February California Bar Exam Applicants Only: Only law students graduating in December 2017 and who have a good faith intention to practice in San Diego County may apply. As a condition of receiving a bar scholarship through Earl B. Gilliam Bar Foundation you agree to report your bar results to the Foundation upon request.

PERSONAL STATEMENT: In 1000 words or less, please explain why you should be awarded a EBGBF scholarship, how this award would impact your personal or professional aspirations, and your involvement with the African American community. You may include information regarding your background, reasons for pursuing further education, challenges you face outside of school, and any other information you would like to have considered by the scholarship selection committee. The personal statement should be double-spaced.
