2014-15 SAS Next-Generation Classroom Application

DIRECTIONS: Listed below is the 2014-15 SAS Next-Generation Classroom Application. This survey/application was created based on our experiences and findings during Year 1 of Next-Generation Classroom programming. This application is broken down into two sections. The first section focuses on a teacher's readiness/likelihood to change. The second section focuses on open-ended educational questions. Please recognize that there are no right or wrong answers to this survey/application and that it's best to be as honest as possible with all of your answers.     Section 1: Teacher Readiness - Self-Assessment

    Ability to being flexible
    Ability to think outside the box
    Willingness to change teaching methods & approaches
    Willingness to take risks throughout the year with regard to the teaching & learning process/classroom activities/experiences
    Willingness to try new technology tools/apps/web tools on the fly
    Willingness to differentiate or personalize learning using technology
    Acceptance that good learning can be somewhat chaotic/disruptive at times
    Willingness to create alternative assessments and not just paper & pencil ones
    Ability to learn technology tools in a just-in-time manner (day before, morning of)
    Ability to work collaboratively with other Next-Gen teachers across the district
    Willingness to open your classroom to a variety of visitors and peers
    Willingness to present to your colleagues and at teaching conferences
