Purpose: To honor past members of the Tennis Coaches Association for their positive
contributions throughout their coaching careers to high school tennis in Minnesota.
Nomination Process: A candidate for the Hall of Fame may be nominated and seconded by
any two coaches who are current members in the Coaches Association. The nomination shall
be sent to the Chairperson of the selection committee with a written summary of the
nominee’s career accomplishments. All nominations must be submitted prior to March 1st of
even years to be considered for that year’s induction.
Selection Committee: The Committee shall be composed of 7 individuals. Four shall be
current officers of the Tennis Association and the other three shall be current members of the
Hall of Fame.
Selection Process: If nominations are submitted, the Selection Committee shall meet
(email/phone calls/faxes) in May to consider nominees for that year. Prior to that meeting, the
Committee Chairperson shall circulate a list of that year’s nominees to the Association
membership for feedback on the nominee’s qualifications. Using the criteria listed in this
document, a nominee must receive four or more votes of the Committee to be selected to the
Hall of Fame.
Criteria For Selection: The Selection Committee will look at the following criteria in
determining membership in the Hall of Fame:
1. The Nominee has been a consistent and active member of the Coaches Association.
2. The Nominee has been coaching for at least 15 years of tennis coaching service.
3. The Nominee’s coaching ethics have always been beyond reproach in regards to lineups,
personal conduct
4. Athletes who played for the Nominee consistently showed the highest levels of
sportsmanship and court conduct according to the Code of Tennis.
5. Career Accomplishments: Conference, Region, and State titles. Building a class program,
consistently making the most of the available talent and facilities, community honors,
contributions to tennis in Minnesota 6. Nominations deadline is March 1st of even years to be considered for that year’s induction.
Awards: All new members will also receive a
plaque from the Tennis Coaches Association.
