Media & PWID: Covering Stories on Capabilities and Contributions
A TRAINING AND FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM FOR MEDIA PRACTITIONERS

Media practitioners (writers, reporters, photographers, editors, camerapersons, producers, etc.) are invited to apply for a media fellowship grant that will provide funding support for media works that focus on the capabilities, contribution, employment, opportunities and workplace inclusion of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PWID).

A training workshop was held last July 14-15, which provided information on intellectual disabilities (i.e. autism, Down syndrome, learning disabilities, emotional disorders), laws and policies, interacting with PWIDs, employment and PWIDs in the workforce, proper language and reportage of the issue and other tips and techniques for media coverage on the issue. Background materials may be downloaded via http://bit.ly/mediapwid2016forms.

In order to apply for a fellowship grant, media practitioners must fill up the "Fellowship Proposal Form"  which will be reviewed for eligibility and compliance to the theme, "PWID: Stories on Capabilities and Contributions." Slots are limited. Interested media are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.

The deadline for submission of the proposal form is on July 25.

“Media and PWID” is a project conducted by the Probe Media Foundation Inc, in partnership with Unilab Foundation through their employment program for PWDs, “Project Inclusion”.
