Amateur BBQ Team Entry Form - #SVBBQFest
We are proud to announce that entry into our 8th Annual Spring Valley Tailgate & BBQ Festival is now open on a first come, first serve basis. We are expecting 30 amateur backyard BBQ teams to compete for the coveted 2017 #SVBBQFest Grand Champion Trophy.

Every year, the primary purpose of this event is to raise money for local youth charities. This year, we are proud to partner with Organizations In Training again. OIT is a local nonprofit organization that provides mentorship for at-risk youth in San Diego.

If you or your team members haven't competed in a professional BBQ or cooking contest before, then you are eligible to sign up. If you have placed in the top 10 in any category of a KCBS or professional cooking contest, then you are NOT eligible to sign up for this contest. This is a backyard event for the BBQ cooking aficionados who want to test out their skills against other cooks at the same level.

Competition Prime Cooking Meats
Valley Farm Market will be continuing their annual tradition of sponsoring the competition meats for each registered BBQ Team!

Valley Farm Market will provide (1) All-Natural Rack of Spare Ribs, (2) All Natural Chicken Halves, & (1) USDA Prime Tri Tip to teams competing in each of these categories. This is the minimum amount of meat needed to compete in the event.

* Carne Asada will not be provided but will be available to purchase with a 20% BBQ Team discount.

** Instructions for obtaining your meats and purchasing additional meat (including Carne Asada with your 20% BBQ Team discount to participate in People's Choice) will be emailed to each Head Cook after your team has been officially registered.

Amateur BBQ Team Categories:
***Non People's Choice Amateur BBQ Team (Non-PC)

Non-PC teams are focused on learning how to compete in a BBQ contest and might not have the capability to provide large quantities of BBQ samples to participate in the People's Choice Contest. Non-PC BBQ teams who are only competing in the contest are PROHIBITED from accepting cash sales or credit card sales for any item and will be disqualified and asked to leave immediately.

***People's Choice Amateur BBQ Team (PC Team)

Every amateur BBQ team that would like to sell 2 oz. BBQ samples of their competition cooking meats are encouraged to sign up as a PC team. PC teams are only allowed to accept BBQ Tokens as payment and must abide by all rules and regulations for PC teams.

Valley Farm Market will provide additional competition cooking meats at a discount to PC teams to help PC teams with food cost and ultimately raise more money for OIT, the local non-profit charity

Meat must be ordered before the event according to instructions in the Welcome Email. Sorry, no exceptions.
