CORTIÇADA ART FEST
Cortiçada ArtFest is the artistic experience festival of the Museu Experimenta Paisagem (MEP), which since 2020 has promoted the movement of people into the country’s interior, establishing itself as the flagship event of the Museum’s values: integrated and sustainable regional development.
The MEP, born in the aftermath of the 2017 wildfires, is a museum without walls, spread across the interior territories of the Central Region of Portugal. It is open and freely accessible, offering an integrated experience of enjoying contemporary creation and the cultural landscapes of the region.
2025 EDITION
In its fourth edition, from July 2 to 6, 2025, Cortiçada Art Fest brings together artists, the community, students, and other participants for 5 days full of workshops and performances in Oleiros, in the surroundings of the Moongate artwork.
Local community, schools and universities are invited to participate in Dance/Music workshops - with dancers Catarina Alves and Flor Rocco and percussionist Paulo Cavernas - and in Architecture/Scenography workshops with architects Ana Alves Costa and Filipa Guerreiro.
The objective is to transform the Moongate site into a collective space, through a process of collaborative creation that culminates in the saturday night performance, and in the eventual permanence of significant devices for the experience of this collective place.
Participation in the festival is free of charge upon payment of a refundable deposit upon arrival at the festival.
Early bird pricing until May 31 — after that, a 20% increase will apply to the deposit. If you do not attend, the amount will not be refunded.
