HELLO AND VELCOME TO THE BIGGER AND SPOOKIER 2025 MACABARET!
Dawn your spooky suits and ghoulish gowns to get ready for the most macabre party in town! The Unnatural Disaster Theatre Co. and Around + Out Theatre Co. are seeking submissions for our second annual Macabaret, happening one night only on October 30th at 7:30PM! This bone-chilling night of delicious delights will be taking place at the Bus Stop Theatre!
Deadline to submit is extended to October 3rd at 11:59pm.
What kind of acts are we looking for?
The Macabaret is seeking bone-chilling acts of ten minutes or less in length. From poetry to music, drag to puppetry, we want to see you at your spookiest!
All acts will be performed in the Bus Stop Theatre, which has dimensions of approx. 15’ x 28’, and a house count of around 80!
All performances will receive an honorarium of $20 per performance or a box office profit share (whichever is more!)
What is tech like in the space?
Performers will have the ability to access the light and sound systems available at the Bus Stop! Tech time/space walkthrough will be taking place during the day/evening on the 30th prior to the Macabaret. If you are selected to participate, more information for sharing your lighting and sound tech with us will be provided.
The Bus Stop Theatre is located at 2203 Gottingen Street in Halifax. The space is accessible from the front entrance, and includes dressing rooms, an accessible washroom, and a lobby space with bar.
