On Saturday, October 26th and Sunday, October 27th, Socialist Presidential Candidate Claudia de La Cruz will be speaking at three free events in Boston. Use this form to RSVP and secure your seat.
This campaign, running on the ticket of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, addresses the issues the Democrats and Republicans have no solutions for – poverty, war, racism, environmental destruction and much more. Under the current capitalist system, a tiny clique of ultra-rich bankers and CEOs have the power and will do anything to maintain it. This campaign stands for socialism: a system where poor and working people hold political and economic power and use it to meet the needs of all people and to preserve the planet.
Claudia de La Cruz will be speaking at three free events:
- Saturday, October 26th, 1pm at [Harvard room]: Socialism and the Student Movement - Thousands of students across the country have joined the movement for a free Palestine in the last year. Through the movement, many students have learned about the oppressive nature of US imperialism and are embracing socialism as an alternative. At this event, Claudia will talk with students about the importance of youth participation in the movement for socialism, and why youth in this country need socialism.
- Saturday, October 26th, 5pm at First Parish Dorchester (10 Parish St): Why Boston Needs Socialism + Claudia de La Cruz Meet & Greet - At this event, Claudia de La Cruz and local activists will talk about why the current pressing issues in Boston are symptoms of capitalism, and how a socialist reorganization of society would address those issues. Claudia will also talk about her campaign in the context of recent national and international news. Finally, there will be a meet and greet where attendees will have a chance to meet Claudia and talk with her about the issues they care about.
- Sunday, October 27th, 1pm at 240 Harris St, Revere: The Power of the People: Fighting for a Socialist Future - Latin American voters are a key demographic that the Democrats and Republicans need to win over. But neither of those parties have a program to meet the needs of the millions of working class Latin Americans in this country, and both have right-wing immigration policies that harm immigrant communities and do not make the country safer. This event will be facilitated in Spanish, and Claudia will talk attendees about a socialist approach to immigration policy and other important issues facing Latin American communities.

A través del movimiento, muchos estudiantes han aprendido sobre el carácter opresivo del imperialismo estadounidense y están adoptando el socialismo como una alternativa. En este evento, Claudia hablará con los estudiantes sobre la importancia de la participación de los jóvenes en el movimiento por el socialismo, y por qué los jóvenes de este país necesitan el socialismo.
- Sábado, 26 de octubre, 5pm en First Parish Dorchester (10 Parish St): Por qué Boston Necesita el Socialismo + Claudia de La Cruz Encuentro y Saludo - En este evento, Claudia De La Cruz y activistas locales hablarán sobre por qué los problemas actuales apremiantes en Boston son síntomas del capitalismo, y cómo una reorganización socialista de la sociedad abordaría esos problemas. Claudia también hablará de su campaña en el contexto de noticias nacionales e internacionales recientes. Finalmente, habrá un encuentro y saludo donde los asistentes tendrán la oportunidad de conocer a Claudia y hablar con ella sobre los temas que les importan.
- Domingo, 27 de octubre, 240 Harris St, Revere: El Poder Del Pueblo: Luchando por un Futuro Socialista - Los votantes latinoamericanos son un grupo demográfico clave al que demócratas y republicanos necesitan ganarse. Pero ninguno de esos partidos tiene un programa para satisfacer las necesidades de los millones de latinoamericanos de clase trabajadora en este país, y ambos tienen políticas migratorias de derecha que dañan a las comunidades inmigrantes y no hacen que el país sea más seguro. Este evento será facilitado en español, y Claudia hablará a los asistentes sobre un enfoque socialista de la política de inmigración y otros temas importantes que enfrentan las comunidades latinoamericanas.
