Polaris Music Prize Board of Directors Application - 2024-2026
Polaris Music Prize is seeking a maximum of three (3) individuals for its Board of Directors to help lead the organization. The Director role is an unpaid, volunteer position and requires an average 2-5 hour commitment bi-monthly. Individuals will be elected at Polaris Music Prize’s Annual General Meeting in February 2024.

We are recruiting people who support the mission, vision, and core purpose of the organization and believe in the value of music as art. It is critical that Polaris Music Prize’s Board of Directors represents the diversity of Canada and we strongly encourage individuals from historically marginalized communities to apply.

Polaris Music Prize specifically welcomes applications from Two-Spirit, Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) communities, Women, 2SLGBTQI+, Trans / Non-binary people, people with disabilities, youth over the age of 18, and individuals with accounting/financial management experience. We are also looking for demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • Legal/Governance

  • Artist, Community, Government, and Stakeholder Relations

  • Human Resources Management

  • Strategic Planning 

  • Sponsorship and Fundraising

  • Not-for-Profit / Charitable Organization Management

Previous Board experience is an asset, and we recognize lived experience as a valuable attribute.
