CLOSED - TRIP IS FULL - Halloween-Themed Scavenger Hunt - Come join us for an exciting Halloween themed scavenger hunt in NYC called the Ghosts of Greenwich Village:  Beware of scare tactics on this eerie adventure!  Students and teachers work together to uncover the stories of creepy places and the ghosts that have haunted them. Starring secret cemeteries, looming skeletons, the haunted homes of Edgar Allen Poe and Mark Twain, bats on a building, Dickensian door knockers, Harry Potter’s nemesis, and a gorilla in a window. The hunt will take place on Saturday, November 8 from 9:15-3:30. You can put together a team of 5-6 students or we will place you in one. The cost of the trip is $30 and can be paid by check.  You can bring a bag lunch or extra money to purchase lunch after the hunt. Please note that SATs are taking place on this day so if you are scheduled for them please do not sign up for the hunt.  Anyone interested can come pick up a permission slip from Ms. Partap in room 317 or Ms. Parlagreco in room 200.

Walking in Holden Caufield’s Shoes: Touring NYC Landmarks - Cost: $31 includes transportation, admission to museum, 3D imax film, Hayden Planetarium, and Carousel ride. Lunch not included. Hurry, space is limited! Join us as we traverse the halls of The Museum of Natural History and saunter along the footpaths of Central Park following in the footsteps made famous by fictional character Holden Caufield from J.D. Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye. Experience permanent and current exhibits—step back into the past as we scavenge and hunt for the timeless exhibits frequented by Holden like The Great Canoe; explore the present in the modern day auditorium-as we watch a 3D Imax film. Continue to explore the past, present, and future under the dome of the Hayden Planetarium. Bring or grab lunch as we picnic by the lake and ponder- Where do the ducks go in the winter? Lastly, recapture your childlike spirit and take a ride with Phoebe on the landmark Central Park Carousel.
