Hi - welcome and thank you for your interest in a saddle fitting with Brittany!
Please prepare for 45 minutes to an hour and a half per horse. Due to the nature of travelling and working with horses we may be early or late to your appointment. Every effort is always made to avoid this but at times is unexpected. Please plan accordingly as we will not rush the saddle fitting process.
Riding is strongly recommended during the appointment.
Please ensure horse is brushed as we will be putting tack on.
Please have a safe area picked out where your horse is comfortable. Generally where they usually get tacked up works great.
During the winter months, please note if the fitting will be indoor or outdoor. If outdoor, please be mindful of the amount of lighting available in your location. Sufficient light is needed to perform the saddle fitting. If you don't have sufficient light during this time of year, we would suggest booking an appointment time prior to dark.
If you are currently working with another fitter and they are going to be on site at the time of your fitting, please note it on this form.
If your horse has any tendencies to kick, bite or act reactively while tacking please note it on the form.
If your horse has never had a saddle on please note it on the form.
If there are multiple barns are your location, please note which one we are to go to on the form.
Fees are:
Fitting with no report: $75 + HST a horse per fitting appointment
Fitting with an emailed report: $100 + HST a horse per fitting appointment
1 horse fitting surcharge: $10 + HST if we are coming out to fit only 1 horse. This fee covers the time required to unpack and pack the truck with saddles. There is no charge if 2 or more horses are being fitted.
Mileage fee: $0.70km + HST. We schedule based on location so the fee is usually lower than expected
Use of the impression pad: $20 + HST per saddle.
Subsequent appointments (refit) - $40 + HST a horse per refit appointment and a mileage fee (same as quoted above). Please note: a refit is considered within 6 months of your original appointment with the same horse.
All fees, products and services will be taxed.
The saddle fitting fee (with or without the report) is due at the time of booking and will be non-refundable and non-transferable. Booking takes a large amount of time and we cannot be rescheduling due to travel times and long distances. If this fee is not paid by the time of your appointment, the appointment will be cancelled.
Once a time and date is confirmed for the fitting, a confirmation e-mail will be sent with the appointment date and time as well as an invoice to pay the fitting fee (please check your junk mail folder for it). We accept e-transfer to britts.corner.on@gmail.com or you can use the 'pay now' link in the invoice e-mail to pay via credit card or PayPal.
Payment for mileage will be due after the appointment and will be sent via an invoice. If you cancel your appointment in 24 hours or less you will be required to pay the mileage fee. We schedule appointments based on location. When cancelling last minute, we are often unable to book someone else in. As a result, this would increase the mileage fee for everyone else scheduled that day which is unfair as they should not have to pay more than they are quoted. Please be mindful of this when cancelling an appointment.
If you have a saddle fitting with a report, you can expect the appointment to last 1.5-2 hrs. The report will be sent to your email and will be done during the fitting (cell reception permitting). It will include pictures of your horse, whiteboard tracings, any saddles tried out, saddle pad and cinch. The write up will include a description, benefits and/or concerns of:
1) Current saddle fit
2) Any saddle tried out
3) Saddle pad
4) Cinch
5) Saddle brand recommendations
If you have a saddle fitting without a report, you can expect the appointment to last 1-1.5 hrs. You are responsible for bringing a pad of paper and a pencil/pen to take notes. We will send an email of any pictures taken during the appointment.
Taking videos/recordings of part of or the whole appointment will not be permitted. Multiple spectators unless their horse is also booked that day will be considered auditors. Auditor fee is $30 a person. A parent/coach does not have to pay the auditor fee.
Messaging and personal phone calls during the appointment will result in an end to the saddle fitting. We would like you to get as much out of the appointment as possible and we feel that both your time, as well as ours, is valuable.
Please note: we do NOT bring the trailer to individual bookings. If there is a tack item you are interested in, please let us know ahead of time and we will make sure we bring it to the appointment. We do bring saddles to the appointment that can be tried out.
Abuse, of any form, before or during the appointment, will NOT be tolerated and will result in the termination of the appointment without a refund.

Please take into consideration refits are strongly recommended at least yearly for every horse. Horses change and as a result saddles may fit differently. We cannot guarantee fits of saddles with changes in topline, overall muscle tone, weight, exercise load, rider change, discipline change or feed program changes. Saddle fitting is not necessarily a ‘one and done’ appointment. For optimal results, your horse should be in consistent work.
