ACl 2025 Best Paper Award Recommendations
This form is for collecting recommendations from ACL'25 best paper committee. Here are some suggestions for the criteria by which a paper may or may not deserve an award, but other factors may also be important for you.
  • Is each paper either fascinating, controversial, surprising, impressive, or potentially field-changing? Note that papers do not need to demonstrate all of these properties; any property is sufficient.
  • Does the paper show excellence in potential positive social impact? Conversely, if there is potential for significant negative social impact that is left unaddressed or insufficiently addressed by the paper? (In such cases, the paper should *not* be an award candidate.)
  • Is the work presented in the paper reproducible? For example, is there sufficient information in the paper to repeat the experiments? If not, is the lack of reproducibility justified in the paper? We have several nominated papers that listed reproduction among their contribution, and there is a special award for reproduction studies.
You may be generous in nominating outstanding award papers (these can be awarded to up to 50% of our nominated paper pool). The goal is to encourage diversity in the field by highlighting a broad range of research types and strengths, including the types of research that can be conducted at small labs.

Please enter a brief justification for your recommendation: why should this paper get an award (or should not be considered for an award)?

If there's an issue that you see, which the other judge might point out, but which in your opinion is outweighed by some other factor - please state it.

We assume that you don't have a COI with this paper that you know about (otherwise please let us know asap). Still, do you know who the authors are, or do you remember that you saw the preprint of this paper before reading it? This question is for statistical purposes only and will not impact the weight of your recommendation. *
