Fighting Anti-Asian Racism Through Film: Attendee Registration
Fulbright Alumni Ambassador Alexa Alice Joubin will be speaking to us in an interactive session about how to fight anti-Asian racism through film and television. Obviously, this is timely with the recent Oscar wins by Asian filmmakers and actors drawing attention to Asian (American) film as a genre. Alexa will be sharing short clips from different films in an effort to show us our habits and thoughts. She is a film studies and critical race studies scholar, and is passionate about fighting racism and misogyny. She co-authored a book called Race, a compelling study of ideas related to race throughout history.
