Do you remember back in the day in elementary school when there was that one book series that EVERYONE read (the Bernstein Bears, Amelia Bedelia, etc.)?

TODAY, kids in elementary schools have begun reading the series known as "Elephant and Piggie" (for more info on this series, please visit http://www.pigeonpresents.com/books.aspx). To celebrate these wonderful books, Newark Library is hosting an Elephant and Piggie Day on Saturday, March 8th from 2 to 4 pm. At this event, volunteers will be helping out the kids at these stations:
- Make Elephant and Piggie Comics
- Take pictures with Elephant and Piggie stand-ups
- Elephant and Piggie Puppets
- Colored paper elephant
- Raffle drawing for Elephant and Piggie plush toy set

Please understand that once you sign up, you commit yourself into making yourself available for that time. As we have a large number of spots available, everyone who signs up should be guaranteed to volunteer at this event.

This is a perfect opportunity not only to earn service hours but also to bring some beautiful smiles to these kids' faces :D! If you are interested, please sign up by this Friday at 7 pm. Ask all of your friends to attend too so that they can make this event even more fun for you! This will be a great, but only if we have YOU to help us. [=
