Please join us for an exclusive gathering highlighting Square's Data and Analytics teams, in addition to Rong Yan, Square’s own Director of Data Science and 2013 CIKM Sponsorship Chair. This private event will begin at 5:30pm at The Westin San Francisco Airport's Grill and Vines Restaurant (a short 5 minute walk from the Marriott) and will include an open bar and tasty bites.

We'll start with a short talk from Rong, where he will highlight what’s unique about data at Square. This discussion covers Square’s approach to machine learning and data infrastructure. We hope you'll join us, but we have limited space, so please be sure to request a spot as soon as possible!

About Rong Yan:

Dr. Rong Yan is currently the Director of Data Science at Square, Inc. He was an engineering manager for the Ads Relevance & Quality team at Facebook from 2009 to 2013, responsible for optimizing delivery performance for all Facebook ad products, and a Research Staff Member at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center from 2006 to 2009.

Dr. Yan received his M.Sc. (2004) and Ph.D. (2006) degree from Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science. His research interests include large-scale machine learning, data mining, social media, multimedia information retrieval and computer vision.
