The Youth Uprising Movement (Levante) will be sharing about the history and organizing as a youth-led social movement in Brazil. For the past seven years, since its formation as a national social movement, Levante has been working to give the youth tools to understand the world in which they live, the problems they face and how to collectively overcome them. Currently, Levante is represented in 26 states of Brazil. Levante’s goal is “to organize youth wherever they are.” The Movement has played a critical role during the political crisis in Brazil sustaining major mobilizations of young people in larger cities from different regions in Brazil.
