Sikkim University - Students' Feedback on Inspired Teachers
Inspired teachers trigger an insatiable thirst among students for learning, exploring, and pushing the frontiers of knowledge beyond books. They make special effort to link knowledge with practice. They help students to understand social realities, be secular in outlook, and bring out the best from both average and bright students. They acknowledge their limitations and appreciate if sometimes students know more than they do. They encourage students to ask questions and do not see disagreements as sign of disrespect for them. They use different strokes for different balls, like a master batsman does in the game of cricket. They are not limited by the syllabus or the class hours allotted to them. They do not discriminate between students of various abilities, talents, castes, creeds, religions and genders. They practise what they preach and demonstrate highest standards of ethical and moral conduct and become living examples of ideal teachers.
It is difficult to find a teacher who will score 10 out of 10. However, if you have noticed some such qualities in any of your teachers or in more than one teacher of your department, please mention their names below and write which of the above qualities you saw in them.
