This form will register you for the Digital Literacy course at
Beckett Life Center (
1410 N. 16th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19121). The course takes place over the first three Tuesdays of each month, from 5:30pm - 8:00pm. However, class size is limited. Seats are first-come, first serve.
The course is taught by
Daniel Laufer, a committeeperson in the
47th Ward (see
philly47thward.org). The computer resources and curriculum for the course are provided by the Digital Equity Center at Temple University, part of the
Pan-African Studies Community Education Program (PASCEP). The course uses
Northstar Digital Literacy, which provides a standardized curriculum & certificate at completion. There are other computer resources available, as well.
Please note that Temple will be setting up an account for you with
Northstar using the information below and an account with
noncredit.temple.edu. This course is technically a non-credit Temple course taught off-site. These accounts will provide you with continuing education opportunities, as well, if you would like to continue learning after this course.
We will reach out to you with confirmation of your registration. Since the classes build on each other, it is important you're able to come to each class.
Thank you for your interest in the course!
