Application – PBS Collaborative Radio Project
Following successful projects in 2015 and 2017, PBS 106.7FM is proud to announce the return of the Collaborative Radio Project, a free training course that combines a love of music with the skills training to produce short radio stories for broadcast. PBS is running the Collaborative Radio Project to support media-making and participation from those who are often underrepresented, misrepresented or excluded from media spaces.

The Collaborative Radio Project offers skills sessions and mentoring in radio story production. Students will work and collaborate with specialist teachers and mentors from Melbourne's radio and music communities.

The course will run on Thursday nights 6:30pm-8:30pm at PBS - 47 Easey St Collingwood. There are six weekly skills classes which are compulsory - July 5, 12, 19, 26, August 2, 9. Then there are three weekly drop-in sessions where you can access teachers and hone your skills during the creation phase - August 16, 23, and 30. The drop-in sessions are not compulsory. There will also be one excursion to other community radio stations in Melbourne.

Following the nine-week course, students will have live radio experience in a broadcast showcase of their final works on the PBS program All Our Stories (Mondays 1-3pm).

Places are limited. People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, those with a disability, and Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.

***Please complete the application form below and submit by 5pm Monday 25th June 2018***

***All applicants will be notified by Friday 29th June 2018***

Before completing the application form, you might like to listen to some of the stories that students in 2015 and 2017 chose to produce. Have a think about your own ideas for a story. It’s okay if you don’t yet have an idea, or if your ideas are very different to these examples: https://soundcloud.com/user-59442898
