Have you got a great idea that needs to see the light of day!? Then we want to hear your pitch!
RMITV approved productions are pitched by our members (aka, you!) and produced with the help of RMITV! These productions are here to give you the opportunity to establish a body of work, and upskill your producing and content creation abilities.
RMITV is looking for content that fits within the below criteria:
- Engaging for RMITV’s audience
- Provides opportunity for members with a diverse range of technical abilities
- Gives members the chance to gain meaningful experiences
- Able to suit digital publication platforms
- Affordable cost to produce
- The production can be completed in 16 weeks
RMITV Presents looks for content made for online consumption, however, we are open to a variety of content that can be broadcast on C31, social media, web series festivals, etc. Ideally, we are looking for 10 minute long episodes over a 6 to 8 episode series.
Here is your pitch ready checklist to help you prepare! Make sure you have all of the following prepared before the session:
∙ Description of your idea and how it differs from past RMITV productions
∙ Detailed profile of who your target audience is
∙ Explanation on how your production welcomes a diverse range of skills
∙ The opportunity that your production presents to RMITV members
∙ How your production will engage its audience
∙ Detailed timeline from pre-production to post-production
∙ Outline of how many volunteers are needed (remember with this type of production you must maintain a
minimum of 80% RMIT students or alumni within your crew- it's a good idea to explain how you'll do this!)
∙ Outline of what equipment and studios are needed
∙ All additional resources; including synopsis, the key message, key audience, production schedule,
distribution plan, storyboard and/ or script.
The more details you provide, the better!
If you have never pitched something before, don’t worry! RMITV is the place to learn and grow!
You MUST be an RMITV member with an active membership to pitch to us. When crewing, all crew must also be active RMITV members... it's all part of that nitty-gritty fine print that ensures you're covered to do dangerous things like make TV with us.
