Cyclopolitan T-rrific Seaport Sights Ride!
We are happy you'll be joining us on Sunday, April 24, 2022 for our second Cyclopolitan ride of the year! 🎉

Come by bike! Come by T! Come one and all, come to see... the Seaport!

Beginning in Camberville, we will head to Boston’s beautiful Seaport district. This bicycle ride will tour Boston's public art offerings, including Okuda San Miguel's pop-surrealist sculptures, with a stop mid-ride in the Seaport waterfront for a BYO-picnic lunch.

Co-sponsored by the Seaport TMA and Bluebikes, this Cyclopolitan-led ride will be different than any other. Getting to the ride start you have two options:

Group 1: Go multimodal! Learn how to bring your bike safely on the T with the help of Cyclopoltan. Or, ride along bike-free and rent a Bluebikes at the ride start.

Group 2: Extend your ride! Join us for a ~3-mile Camberville-to-Boston route to the ride start. This pre-ride will begin at a Bluebikes station in case you need to rent a bike.

The ride will officially start at Government Center, meeting at 11am, riding out at 11:30am. The Government Center route is a flat ~3-mile loop, accessible to riders of all abilities and ages. Lycra and stamina not required!

*FREE Bluebikes will be available to those without a bike of their own. Please email thecyclopolitan@gmail.com to receive your discount code.

FAQ:
Q: Is this ride safe?
A: Completely. Cyclopolitan takes pride in crafting rides that are accessible to all riders, even those who are less street savvy. We plan our routes to include as many protected lanes, off-road (sidewalk) options, and one-way streets as possible, and employ as many marshals as necessary to keep our riders safe through turns.

Q: Do I *really* have to register?
A: Yes! We need accurate head counts to properly plan for ride marshals, we need contact info for contact tracing purposes, and we need our waiver signed so we know that you are riding at your own risk. (But rest assured this ride is completely safe!)

Q: I’m a beginner, is this ride for me?
A: Yes! This ride is totally and completely appropriate for beginner riders. As long as you can pedal in a straight line, this ride will be within your reach! We ride slowly, and the entire route has minimal inclines.

Q: I ride a cargo bike, is this ride for me?
A: Yes! We recommend cargo bike rides join Group 2, as the T is less friendly to long-tail and bucket cargo bikes. A short-tail cargo rider could join Group 1.

Q: I’m an adult who rides with children, is this ride for me?
A: Yes! Many adults ride Cyclopolitan routes with children, either in tow on a cargo bike, or operating their own bikes. If you child can ride three, flat, slow miles, they will love this ride!

This ride will definitely need MARSHALS, which are riders who help to block intersections while creating good will with our car-riding friends, i.e. the most important part of any ride. Would you like to marshal for us? We can train you!
